The Costa Book of the Year 2007 was announced at a glittering awards dinner
and ceremony held at the Intercontinental Hotel in central London.
550 guests, including publishers, authors and celebrities, enjoyed a
champagne drinks reception before being seated for the awards dinner.
The ceremony itself, hosted by writer and presenter Mariella
Frostrup, saw the presentation of cheques for £5,000 to each of the five
category award winning authors and £100 of book tokens to the two 2007 young
judges.
Chair of Judges, Joanna Trollope, and Managing Director of Costa, John
Derkach then announced the winner of the 2007 Costa Book of the Year before
inviting guests to celebrate at an after show party.
