Congratulations to Catherine
Congratulations to Catherine O'Flynn, who was recently named Waterstone's Newcomer of the Year at the 2008 British Book Awards presentation ceremony for her debut novel, What Was Lost, which won the 2007 Costa First Novel Award. Catherine faced stiff competition from several other authors including Stef Penney for The Tenderness of Wolves, which of course won the 2006 Costa Book of the Year.

Frothy Tales released
We're proud to announce the first ever Costa Writer-in-Residence, Davey Spens. Davey will spend the next six months completing his first novel, and creating a series of short stories entitled Frothy Tales, which we'll be publishing here weekly on CostaBookAwards.com.
Frothy Tales are quirky fictional observations on the Costa customers that he encounters whilst writing in Costa outlets across London. The first, Matching Couple from Bayswater, is online today! Why not let us know what you think by adding your comments below?
