BookTrade reported when the event opened: "An exciting new short story evening is set to start early next year in Central London."
"These events are a chance to hear from some of the capital?s most interesting short fiction writers in an informal setting," commented Lane Ashfeldt of Pulp Net. "London's coffee-houses were once the place to get together to exchange new ideas, and the Pulp Net Short Story Cafe at Costa draws on that tradition to help bring vital new writing to a wide audience."
The events are being programmed by Pulp Net, the short fiction website, in association with Costa.
